what i like about riverdale, my new home
1. it's quiet.
2. there are old-skool coffee shops and diners.
3. there is one ("1") indian restaurant.
4. there is one ("1") drug store.
5. the subway ride is long enough so i can actually get engaged in what i'm reading.
6. stores close early, so kids do not stand around spitting, playing loud radios and subtracting from my enjoyment.
7. women come out of salons with huge, teased hair.
8. it is only about ten ("10") minutes from the home of william lessard.
9. excellent sushi -- "healthy--delicious" on johnson avenue. tea and edamame aren't as good as they are at osaka, but the rest is excellent.
10. i have access to a car. a nifty vw.

what's new
1. the sun is up.
2. my skin is dry: moisturizing is required.
3. planes are flying.
4. i am thirsty.
5. i hear birds.
6. i am contemplating/dreading exercise.
7. both cats are nearby, chill.
8. my co op shift is tonight.
9. i am detoxing from sugar and wheat.
10. i have discovered corn cakes, instead of rice cakes.
11. i have been drinking a lot of water.
12. i have been tithing.
13. i have a gift for my sister.
14. this gift will be given next week.
15. i will be cooking for passover.
16. my lips are dry too.
17. i wish i had a grapefruit.
18. soon, it will be time for coffee.

what i've done today, so far
1. enjoyed long-ass train ride from riverdale to brooklyn.
2. studied ikea catalog on long-ass ride from riverdale to brooklyn.
3. read about nodes and houses in complete idiot's guide to astrolgy book. am blatant about reading this book, and enjoy observing other riders' reactions to this book and how it is aimed at complete idiots.
4. bought one ("1") pound of salmon fillet and also fish stock from fish store on court street. suffered medium-infraction resistance from purveyor. note to self: enter incident in "violations" section of servemyass.com.
5. spoke on fone to prayer partner.
6. steamed squash and kale.
7. allowed water to evaporate from pot, scalding it and creating potential smoke hazard.
8. dialed dead grandmother's fone number as if she would answer. she did not.
9. enjoyed community feelings on the well. explored hospice conference in search of support around dying.

7. i was given a copy of the complete idiot's guide to astrology last night. this pleases me.
8. i still can't believe my stoopid therapist dumped me over the fone. i look at her and i'm like, what the FUCK?
9. i am enjoying the book i'm reading, riding the rails. but i'm getting tired of it already.
10. i have been walking over the brooklyn bridge a lot lately.
